Obituary
Friends and family, it is with deep sorrow that we inform you that Jodi Kay Eggert of La Junta, Colorado, entered into rest on January 24, 2025, at her home. Born on June 27, 1960, in La Junta, Colorado, to Joan and Frank Foster, Jodi lived a fulfilling life. She was 64 years of age.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years, David Eggert of La Junta, son, Mitch (Jennah Thompson) Eggert of Pueblo, Colorado, brother, Jim (Maureen "Mo") Foster of Fort Collins, Colorado, brother-in-law Glenn (Clay Foor) Eggert of Oklahoma, sister-in-law, Lori (Dave) Johnson of Castle Rock, Colorado, several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jodi was preceded in death by her parents, Joan and Frank Foster, and her mother-in-law Mary Eggert.
Jodi grew up riding horses, dirt bikes and spending a lot of her time outdoors. She graduated from La Junta High School and then attended Otero Junior College in which she graduated as a Registered Nurse. She later received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of New Mexico. She dedicated many years to her profession. Jodi was employed at Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center. She worked as an ICU Nurse for 22 years, then became a Wound Care Nurse (W.O.C.N.) before she retired in 2020. She loved taking care of her patients and cherished the small-town community where she was able to meet and care for so many different people. She also was a dedicated volunteer for the Clean Valley Recycling Center and helped them to get it established. Jodi loved knitting and she made many blankets. She was very generous and would use those blankets as Christmas presents. She was the glue that held her family together and was always there for them. She loved to cook and share communion type dinners with others. Known by many for her famous chocolate chip cookies, she was a special person. She was loved by everyone who knew her. The Eggert family deeply appreciates our community’s support and kindness during this difficult time.
Jodi's presence will be dearly missed. We invite you to join us in honoring her memory and celebrating the life she lived.
A Memorial Celebration will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, February 7, 2025, at the First Church of the Nazarene in La Junta. Pastor John Dell will be officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to the loving care of Johnson-Romero Funeral Home. Online condolences and shared memories can be made at johnsonromero.com.
