Truck Crashes into Rocky Ford Home; Speed and Alcohol Suspected Factors

February 7th, 2025 - Rocky Ford Police Department - Rocky Ford, CO
On February 7th, 2025, at approximately 22:30 p.m., the Rocky Ford Police Department, along with Rocky Ford Fire and EMS, was dispatched to the area of Walnut Ave and 2nd St for a reported motor vehicle crash.
Officers located a Ford pickup truck that crashed into a residence. The driver was extricated from the vehicle and transported to Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center. The home was occupied at the time of the crash, but there were no injuries to the occupants.
The truck was Westbound on Walnut when it failed to navigate the curve. The truck went off the West side of the roadway crashing through a small drainage ditch, several fences, and trees before going through the East wall of the residence.
The residence suffered extensive damage.
At this time, excessive speed and alcohol are believed to be factors. The investigation is ongoing.
