Kansas Drug Bust with Southeast Colorado Connection Yields Meth, Fentynal, Cocaine, Cash

On February 8, 2025 at 5:03 PM, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle at the intersection of E. Avenue E and N. Johnson Street. K9 Speedy alerted to the odor of narcotics in the vehicle. The vehicle was searched and there was 44 Grams of Methamphetamine, 33 Grams of Cocaine, 215 Fentynal Pills, and over $5,000 of U.S. Currency was located. The following occupants were arrested and charged:

Tony Jiron, 60 of La Junta, Colorado

-Distribution of opiate; 3.5 - < 100 grams in 1000’ of a school (2 Counts)

-Distribution of material containing Fentanyl

-Possession of drug paraphernalia

-No drug tax stamp

-Driving while Suspended

-Unlawful use of driver’s license

William Dunagan, 44 of Lamar, Colorado

-Possesion of opiates

-Possession of Drug Paraphernalia 

Ashley Romero, 39 of La Junta, Colorado

-Possesion of opiates

-Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
