La Junta Firefighters Contain Roasting Machine Fire at Coffee Holding Facility

At approx 10am this morning, we responded to Coffee Holding for a reported roasting machine on fire. Upon arrival heavy white/grey smoke was showing from the West side of the building. 2- 1 3/4 inch attack lines laid to a garage door to make access.

A supply line laid from fire hydrant for supply. Crews made the way in to find a large roasting machine that had fire contained inside of it and the entire building. Crews made access to the inside of the machine to start extinguishing the fire.

Parts of the machine were taken apart to complete salvage and overhaul.

Vent fans were placed in different places to help vent the building. Fire damage was contained to the roasting machine and no injuries were reported.
