Obituary

Mary Miller, 63, of Manzanola, passed away on February 21, 2025. She was born on October 1, 1961, in Tracy, MN, to Clinton and Margaret Peterson.
Growing up in Tracy, Mary was an active participant in her community, excelling in Band, Choir, and as a member of the Girl’s Golf Team throughout high school. She graduated as Valedictorian of her class in 1980 before pursuing her education at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. There, she played oboe in both the College Band and Orchestra while studying business, French, and Political Science. Mary graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1984, showcasing her commitment to academic excellence.

Her professional journey began with a move to Washington DC, where she worked for Senator Dave Durenberger for six years. Afterward, Mary joined the Soil and Water Conservation District, eventually taking charge of the St. Paul office. During a business trip at a Soil and Water Conservation convention, she met David Miller, the love of her life.

Mary and David married on July 2, 1994, in Pueblo, where they built a beautiful life together. Mary became a stepmother to David’s children, Christy Clark Weese and Zachary Miller, and grandmother to four grandchildren: Seth Clark, Kesey Miller, Taylor Clark, and Cassandra Miller.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Mary found joy with David in her home on the ranch. She and David operated Triple M Bar, where they were known for producing quality lamb meat and for their exceptional care and love for the animals. Mary’s heart was deeply devoted to David and the ranch, and it became a beloved part of the local community. Her passion for animals and the joy she found in caring for them brought her immeasurable happiness.

Mary was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Peterson. She is survived by two brothers Dave and Mark, her beloved husband, David, her stepchildren, Christy and Zachary, her four grandchildren, and numerous extended family members and friends who will continue to carry her memory in their hearts.
