LJFD: Cheraw Brush Fire Possibly Caused by Sparking Power Lines in High Winds

At approx 215pm today we responded to the 32000 blk of Rd KK by Cheraw for a reported brush fire.

Upon arrival of Chief Davidson, his size up found corrals and straw and brush on fire spreading East toward some out buildings.

Crews started arriving on scene and began aggressive attack to knock the fire down before the out buildings.

Crews then began overhaul on the surrounding areas to work hot spots and all smoldering areas.

The cause of the fire was possibly from a sparking power line.

The strong winds did cause issues with the spread of the fire.
