Lamar Fire & Emergency Services Busy with Storage Shed and Vehicle Fire

This morning Lamar Fire responded to a reported structure fire in the 300 Block of S 7th at 0650 hours.  Chief 1 arrived on scene and reported a 10’ by 10’ shed fully involved. Engine 5 arrived on scene and reported to side C in the alleyway.  The crew deployed an 1.75’ bumper line to attack the fire. The crews had the fire out within 10 minutes.  The crews mopped up the fire and were clear by 0800. 

Trucks attached to the ticket were Engine 5, Engine 6, Truck 1, Quint 1, and FRU4. 

Lamar Fire also responded to a vehicle fire located at Thunder Drive and Savage at approximately 1040 this morning. Engine 5, Engine 6, and Engine 2 responded to the scene. Engine 5 reported that the vehicle was fully involved as the crews arrived on scene. Engine 5 used the front bumper monitor to darken the fire while crews pulled the 1.75’ front bumper line. The fire was extinguished within 10 minutes and crews mopped up the hot spots.  All apparatus were cleared on the scene and returned to full service. 

Equipment on the ticket were Engine 5, Engine 6, Engine 2, and FRU2.
