Obituary

Oliver Lovato, 79, passed away on April 27th, 2025, at Bent County Health Center in Las Animas, Colorado. Oliver was born on December 25th, 1945, in La Junta, Colorado to Samuel and Ramona Lovato.

Oliver worked as a track man for the BNSF Railroad for 38 years. His passion, hard work, and dedication to BNSF was admirable. Oliver had many close colleagues that he enjoyed working with.

After Oliver retired in 2006, he spent most of his time with his family and friends. Everyone saw him as a loving, playful, and generous man. He found pleasure in spending time with his wife on trips to Cripple Creek. He loved watching football and rooting for everyone's opposing team. Oliver especially loved joking around with everyone he spent time with. He enjoyed cruising around town on his motorcycle and watching westerns. Oliver also cherished time with his grandchildren. Most days Oliver would be kicking back on his porch swing watching cars and neighbors passing by.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia, whom he was married to for 53 years. His daughters, Pamela Husted and Cindy (Thomas) Baca and his sons, Oliver Lovato Jr & Steven (Vicky) Lovato. Also, Oliver's sisters, Sandra (Nick) Ortiz, Ina Armijo, and Triscilla Vasquez. In addition to Oliver's beautiful grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Ramona Lovato, brothers, Steven Lovato, Henry Lovato and Freddie Aguilar.

A celebration of life service will be Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be Friday, May 2, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel.
