Obituary
Richard (Rich) Wilson was born Nov 14, 1952 in Simla, CO and passed on Sept 21, 2025 at Intermountain Health (Lutheran) Hospice in Wheatridge CO.
His parents were Amos and Beulah Wilson and he spent his childhood on their ranch near Simla CO. He attended school at Alta Vista and graduated high school in 1970. After graduation Rich moved to La Junta CO to attend Otero Junior College (OJC) where he earned his Associates of Science degree in Computer Programming. After graduating from OJC he went to work for the City of La Junta as a computer programmer for 2 years. In 1974 he began his employment with Southeast Colorado Power Association (SECPA) as a computer programmer where he worked for 41 years until his retirement as the Chief Executive Officer in 2014. He loved his time at SECPA and the people he worked with there.
Rich married Judi (Frisk) of La Junta CO in 1976. They celebrated their 49th anniversary on July 24, 2025. The couple moved to the Denver area after his retirement to be close to their daughter Renee and son-in-law (Heath Klein) eventually moving to Thornton CO.
Among his numerous talents, Rich enjoyed home remodeling and renovations. He was a "jack of all trades" in this area. He also loved flying and obtained a private pilot's license and spent many happy hours flying in his plane.
Rich is survived by his wife, Judi WIlson of Thornton CO, daughter Renee WIlson (Heath Klein) of Westminster CO, a brother, Raymond Wilson of Calhan CO, and a sister, Janice Martin of Calhand CO and many nieces and nephews. Rich was preceded in death by his parents, Amos and Beulah Wilson of Simla CO, brother Ronald Wilson (Debbie) of Colorado Springs CO and brother-in-law George Martin (Janice) of Calhan CO. He will be greatly missed.
