Obituary

Stephen Lyle Eddy, a beloved husband, father, and dedicated member of the community, passed away on October 10, 2025, in Pueblo, Colorado. He was born December 8, 1940, in Trinidad, Colorado to Lyle and Lillian (Sharp) Eddy.

For 27 years, Stephen worked as an Engineer for the railroad, contributing significantly to the industry with his technical expertise and unwavering dedication. In addition to his career on the rails, he also worked as a trucker. His adventurous spirit extended beyond his professional life; Stephen was an avid lover of cars. He enjoyed working on automobiles and took great pride in showcasing his creations at car shows. Recognized as a skilled street-rodder and was passionate about building hot rod cars and motors for classic vehicles.

Stephen's service to his country is a testament to his character; he served honorably in the United States Navy, embodying the values of duty and commitment.

Stephen shared a loving marriage with his wife, Samantha "Sam" Eddy, whom he was married to for 17 years, spending 23 years overall together. He was not only a devoted husband but also a proud father to his children.

Steve is survived by his wife, Samantha “Sam” Eddy of the La Junta home; children, Kelly Bennett of Texas, Laura (John) Barnes of Colorado, Joshua Lucero of Colorado, Lacey Lucero of Colorado, and Michael (Tigré) Lucero of Colorado; grandchildren and great- grandchildren; sister, Marilyn (Billy Ray) Bryant of Aurora, Colorado; and his beloved dog, Macy. He is preceded by his parents, Lyle and Lillian Eddy, as well as his first wife, Kathleen Eddy.

Stephen's legacy will be honored in a Memorial Service that will be held at a later date. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those who were fortunate to have known him.
