City of Rocky Ford, Colorado Proclamation Honoring First Responders Day - October 28

Whereas, first responders in Rocky Ford and across the nation include dedicated professional and volunteer firefighters, law enforcement officers, emergency medical technicians (EMTs), paramedics, dispatchers, and others who are first to arrive and assist during emergencies, often placing themselves in harm's way to protect others; and

Whereas, these brave individuals are a vital part of our community's safety and well- being, responding to natural disasters, medical emergencies, fires, accidents, and other critical incidents with skill, courage, and compassion; and

Whereas, first responders are on the front lines every day, serving with integrity, commitment, and a deep sense of duty-often with little recognition and great personal sacrifice; and

Whereas, the City of Rocky Ford is proud to recognize the estimated millions of first responders across the country, and especially those who serve our local community, as true heroes who exemplify public service at its highest level; and

Whereas, October 28 is an appropriate day to honor and express deep gratitude to all first responders for their unwavering service and dedication;

Now, Therefore, We, The City Council of the City of Rocky Ford, Colorado, do hereby proclaim October 28 as: First Responders Day in the City of Rocky Ford and urge all residents to recognize and honor the courage, commitment, and service of our local first responders through appropriate expressions of appreciation and community support.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the City Council of Rocky Ford has hereunto set its hand and caused this proclamation to be attested on this 28th day of October 2025.
