Early Morning Vehicle Crash Closes Interstate 76
Interstate closed for an extended time for clean up investigation
(Jefferson County, COLO)-Colorado State Patrol Troopers were dispatched to the area of Interstate 76 westbound near milepost 1, near Sheridan Boulevard, at 6:44 a.m. for a report of a three-vehicle crash involving a semi.
Initial reports indicate a semi with a trailer jack-knifed on the road, causing two additional vehicles to crash. During the crash, a fuel leak from the semi’s side tank spilled onto the road. The westbound direction of travel is currently closed, and vehicles are being directed off the Interstate. There is no time frame for reopening the road.
