Christmas Eve Dirt Bike Crash Near Ellicott, Colorado Claims Life of 15-Year-Old, CSP Investigating

Dirt Bike Crash Turns Fatal
(El Paso County, COLO) – This evening (12/24/25), at about 5:00 p.m., the Colorado State Patrol responded to the area of South Ellicott Highway and Jayhawk Avenue near Ellicott, Colorado, for a reported two-vehicle crash involving two dirt bikes.
Each dirt bike was occupied by a single person: A 15-year-old male and a 21-year-old male. First Responders at the scene attempted life-saving measures on both parties while waiting for helicopters to arrive. The 15-year-old male was pronounced deceased at the scene. The 21-year-old male was flown by helicopter to an area medical facility.
The Colorado State Patrol is the lead investigating agency for this incident. This is an active and ongoing investigation, with no cause determined at this time.
