Rick was born October 3, 1960 in Elkhart, Kansas. He was a devoted son and brother, loving father, loyal friend, and a man known by all who met him for his kindness, politeness, and genuine interest in others. Even through life’s many difficulties, he remained positive, focused, and always looking toward the future. He was a fighter—a survivor—whose strength and resilience inspired those around him.

Rick had a deep love for aviation and earned his private pilot license in 1982. He also took great pride in his 1984 Chevy pickup. In his younger years, Rick was a highly recognized track and field and basketball player at Walsh High School in Walsh, Colorado, accomplishments he carried with quiet pride.

Above all else, Rick cherished his family. He is survived by his daughter, Carly Miller; son-in-law, Kevin Miller, his beloved grandchildren, Brodie and Lennie Miller; his sister, Kim Mauck; his cousin and life-long best friend, his brother in all but name, Dave Henderson; his nephews, Casey, Coby, and Marshall Whittington; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him dearly. He is proceeded in death by his father, Ronald Henderson; his mother, Sandra Henderson; and his brother, Michael Thurman.

Rick will be remembered for his gentle spirit, thoughtful nature, and unwavering perseverance. He leaves behind a legacy of strength, kindness, and love that will continue to live on through his family and friends. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
