A Graveside Service for Carol Arguello will be held at 11:30 a.m., Friday, January 23, 2026 at Fairmount Cemetery in Lamar, Colorado.  Per Carol’s request, there will be no visitation.

 

Obituary

Carol Sue (Peters) Arguello was born on July 15, 1957 in Liberal, Kansas to Alvin and Mary Jane (Commins) Peters.  She passed away on January 15, 2026 at Banner North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, Colorado at the age of 68.

Throughout her life, Carol was a loving mother and daughter, often dedicating herself to the happiness of those she loved. She possessed a unique ability to brighten the day of everyone she encountered with her positive nature and her radiant smile. Her laughter echoed in the hearts of her family and friends, reminding them of the beauty in everyday moments. She exemplified love, kindness, and a zest for life that touched everyone around her.

Carol had a variety of interests that brought her joy. She enjoyed long walks that allowed her to connect with nature, and she had a passion for singing, which she shared with those close to her. Among her hobbies, she found delight in collecting cherished items and playing Bingo—a pastime that brought her and her friends together for laughter and camaraderie. A lifelong fan of soap operas, westerns, and the Denver Broncos, Carol found delight in simple pleasures.  Carol was known for her culinary talents, with her tuna fish salad and mashed potatoes being particularly adored by family and friends alike. Her cooking was an extension of her love, a way to bring people together around the table and create lasting memories.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents Alvin and Mary Jane Peters; and husband, Robert Arguello.  She is survived by her two sons, Ben Arguello and Abe Arguello, granddaughter, Roberta Arguello Plendl; brothers, Larry Peters, James Peters, and Kenneth Peters; sisters, Cheryl Peters, Patricia Peters, and Janet Gibson; numerous other relatives and a host of friends who will remember her warmth and infectious laughter.
