Arrest Made in Otero County Hit-and-Run: Suspect in Custody After Juvenile Seriously Injured on County Road FF

Public Asked for Tips After Juvenile Seriously Injured in County Road FF Hit-and-Run

March 9, 2026 - Early this morning an arrest was made in the Hit & Run incident on County Road FF. The vehicle identified as a white 2010 Ford Fusion that was allegedly driven by Laurel Korbitz, 31, of Swink, who is now in custody. 

The incident remains under investigation and all parties are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

March 8, 2026 - At approximately 19:25 this evening, a juvenile female was struck by a vehicle in the 23,000 Block of County Road FF, causing significant injury.  The driver fled the scene. 

The OCSO and Colorado State Patrol are looking for an older style white sedan missing the right side mirror.

Both agencies are still investigating.
