Lamar Fire Responds to Early Morning Structure Fire on W. Washington; No Injuries Reported


Description: Lamar Fire crews quickly contained a structure fire in the 600 block of W. Washington early Monday. Multiple units and mutual aid responded, with no victims found. Firefighters brought the blaze under control and cleared the scene by 4:00 AM.

Lamar Fire Responds to Early Morning Structure Fire

Monday morning at approximately 1:30 a.m., Lamar Fire was dispatched to a structure fire in the 600 block of W. Washington.

Quint 1 was the first unit to arrive on scene and reported heavy fire showing from side C of the structure. Engine 6 and Truck 1 arrived shortly after, with Engine 6 establishing command.

A 1.75-inch attack line was deployed from Quint 1, while Truck 1 established a supply line from 11th Street and Washington. Command requested mutual aid from Prowers County Rural Fire.

Engine 5 arrived and staged in the alley east of the structure, deploying an additional 1.75-inch attack line to the rear of the residence, using Prowers Rural 6521 as a water source.

Fire crews successfully knocked down the fire and initiated an interior attack from the Delta side of the structure. A primary search was conducted with no victims located. Following a secondary search, crews transitioned to salvage and overhaul operations.

All units cleared the scene and returned to service at approximately 4:00 a.m., and command was terminated.
