Emergency Water Outage: Victor and Goldfield Residents Told to Stop All Water Use

Description: The City of Victor has declared an emergency water outage affecting Victor and Goldfield, urging residents to stop all water use immediately, avoid drinking tap water, and plan for at least 48 to 72 hours without reliable water service.
EMERGENCY WATER OUTAGE UPDATE
The City of Victor has officially declared an emergency related to the ongoing water outage affecting Victor and Goldfield.
Several failures within the system have compounded this crisis and the City has stood up a formal emergency response team to coordinate operations, repairs, and community support. Community services and emergency coordination are being operated out of the Victor Fire Station.
Emergency repairs are scheduled for this evening. In addition, backup water from multiple external sources is being brought in to refill our storage tanks so that once the primary failure is repaired, we can begin restoring water service as quickly as possible.
DO NOT USE ANY WATER AT ALL ![]()
Even if your property currently has water pressure, you must stop all water use immediately. This includes:
• Showering
• Laundry
• Dishwashing
• Flushing toilets when possible
• Outdoor use
• Any consumption
The system cannot recover if demand continues to exceed production and storage capacity. Every gallon used delays restoration for your neighbors and the community as a whole.
Potable is available at the Victor Fire House for residents to utilize in lieu of any water that may currently be present in homes or businesses. Non-potable water is available in Goldfield. The station will be staffed daily from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM to support our community.
Showers are also available to residents at:
• Aspen Mine Center until 4:00 PM
• Parks & Recreation Building from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM
At this time, residents should not drink any water from any tap in their home and expect a MINIMUM disruption of 48 hours and should PLAN for up to 72 hours without reliable water service. Even after primary restoration occurs, residents should expect intermittent service issues, pressure fluctuations, and operational disruptions for approximately the next 7 days as the system stabilizes and emergency repairs continue.
The City’s disaster declaration related to this emergency is available on the City website.
We understand the seriousness and disruption this causes and will continue providing updates as information becomes available. Thank you to our emergency partners, neighboring agencies, volunteers, and City crews who are working around the clock to stabilize the system and restore service.
