Obituary
Carole Bauer, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away on April 27, 2025, in Colorado Springs at the age of 77. Carole was born on January 10, 1948, in Rocky Ford to Jake and Mary Lindt. She grew up in Rocky Ford and graduated from Rocky Ford High School before marrying the love of her life, Carey Bauer, on December 18, 1971. Together, they raised their family in Sugar City, where Carole became a beloved member of the community.
Carole worked for many years at the First National Bank in Ordway, where she served as the accounting supervisor. She was known for her dedication, her kindness, and her work ethic, but even more so for her warm and compassionate nature. She had a gentle soul, always caring deeply about everyone she knew. Carole's love for her family was unmatched, and she truly lived for the people she loved. She would go above and beyond for her children, and later, for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
In addition to being a devoted family member, Carole was also an active and engaged member of her community. She cherished the time spent with her friends, whether it was going out for dinner on Friday nights with "the girls," playing cards, or enjoying games of dominoes. Carole was a longtime member of the VFW Auxiliary and the Sugar City Senior Center, where she spent countless hours socializing, volunteering, and making lifelong friendships.
Carole’s warm smile, her caring spirit, and her ability to make everyone around her feel special will be deeply missed. She had a remarkable ability to bring people together and touch their lives in a way few could.
She is survived by her loving son, Chad (Pamala) Bauer; her 6 grandchildren, Stephanie (Nate) Smith, Shyanne (Harley) Bauer, Samantha Bauer, Sydanni Bauer, Michelle (Chris) Stevenson, Michael (Amanda) Greene, her 7 great-grandchildren: Brian Ortiz, Megan Ortiz, Dylan Greene, Elena Greene, Amelia Stevenson, Fenrir Smith, Kenai Gallegos-Bauer; and many other dear family members and friends. Carole was preceded in death by her parents, Jake and Mary Lindt, her loving husband Carey Bauer, her son Cory Bauer, and her siblings Evelyn Grassmick, Kenneth Lindt and Rose Blotz.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Sugar City Senior Center in Carole’s memory.
Carole’s family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to all who have offered their love and support during this difficult time.
