Bent County Man Arrested for Alleged Attempted Kidnapping and Assault of Two Juveniles

On May 9, 2025, at approximately 1920 hours, the Bent County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a male subject near 6th and Cottonwood who had grabbed two juveniles.

One juvenile reported the male quickly approached and grabbed her arm, while another stated the male grabbed his forearm and attempted to pull him. The suspect was identified as Aaron Maldanado.

Deputies located Maldanado in the 200 block of Saint Vrain Avenue. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Bent County Jail. Maldanado is being held for:

Criminal attempt in violation of C.R.S 18-2-101 x2

2nd degree Kidnapping in violation of C.R.S 18-3-302(2) x2

Harassment in violation of C.R.S 18-9-111(1)(a)(c) x2

Assault in the 3rd degree in violation of C.R.S 18-3-204(1)(a) x2

Menacing in violation of C.R.S 18-3-206(1)x2

Criminal mischief in violation of C.R.S 18-4-501(1)(a)

Maldanado is being held in lieu of a 10,000 dollar bond.
