Obituary

Kelly Marie Casper Bunce was known by her family and friends as energetic, spunky, having a great work ethic, fun, strong-willed, passionate towards people in need, and a “tell it like it is” kind of young woman. She left this world for a better place on July 16th and will NEVER be forgotten.

Kelly was born to Kenny and Chris Casper on May 27th, 1986, and grew up on a ranch in Rocky Ford, Colorado. Her strong, determined personality showed itself the day she was born when the OB nurse administered the routine protective newborn drops in her eyes.

She fought and won the fight to keep them open to see the new world she was going to be a part of. She was strong-willed and determined from that moment on.

Growing up on a ranch with two hard working parents and two brothers gave her the education and modeling to use any kind of machinery, equipment, and tool to tackle any repair project and help others when needed. To this day, she could repair household breakdowns, fix a lawn mower, and serve others first.

After she moved to Fayetteville, North Carolina, Kelly met and married Johnny Bunce and spent her life as an insurance agent, which she loved. Not only did she like the duties of assisting clients with their insurance needs, but she LOVED becoming a part of every client’s family. A prime example of this, was the time when an elderly client called her after a hurricane and flood, in distress. He had no electricity to his country home and his wife was disabled. Kelly immediately reassured him she was on it “to get it repaired.” She called an electrician friend to help get the power on the new pole she bought at the local lumber yard and had the situation fixed within three hours. Her clients will miss her dearly.

Kelly was very active in her daughter’s school PTA group and always found the time to coach Holli’s softball and volleyball after school games over the years. The biggest event she helped promote and assisted with was the Wells Cane Memorial Golf Tournament. This fundraiser was for her husband’s nephew who died at a very young age. The proceeds from this event, which has been held annually for 14 years, go to the Ronald McDonald House in Durham, North Carolina.

Kelly totally loved her family, loved life when she entered a room, and loved North Carolina.

She leaves behind her husband of 17 years, Johnny Bunce, two children, Holli and Bladen Bunce, mother, Chris Casper, brothers Kyle (Shelby) Casper and Kevin (Nicki) Casper, grandmother, Bev King, of Florida, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins in Colorado, Florida, and Minnesota. She was preceded in death by grandparents, Paul and Bonnie Casper, two uncles, Paul and Mike Casper, and most recently by her father, Kenny Casper.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Kelly’s name to the Ronald McDonald House at 506 Alexander Ave, Durham, North Carolina, 27705

A celebration of life for family and her closest friends will be held Saturday, August 2nd in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
